Get ready to rock your dog’s photo session

    Rock your dogs photo session

Listen to this blog post instead:

Your dog’s photo session is your love story. And we’re about to make it epic.

You’re booked? Wahoo! We’re going to have So. Much. Fun.

You’ve said yes to a day that’ll leave you windblown, dusty, maybe a little emotional and totally in awe of your dog.

This is more than a photo shoot.

It’s you, your dog and me, heading into the wild like a badass little wolfpack.

We chase real moments: goofy grins, wind-in-your-hair zoomies, those quiet pauses where everything just feels right.

We already picked your spot. That place that hits you in the chest. The trail she drags you down, the lake he cannonballs into, the mountaintop that makes you feel like the queen of your own world.

So now? Get ready to live it.

    Loud.

    Messy.

Unapologetically in love with your dog.

Let’s write the kind of story that’ll have you ugly-crying (in a good way) every time you flip back through the photos.

Prepping for your dog’s photo session

This story? Your dog is the star.

They’re the whole reason we’re here.

Hell, they’re the reason behind my entire business.

    Let’s get you both ready.

To fluff or not to fluff?

Grooming matters but not in a fussy, pageant-dog kinda way. We want your four-legged adventure buddy looking like themself at their best.

A groom about a week ahead of time? Perfect. It gives their coat time to chill out and settle into that “effortless handsome” look.

Let’s make sure we avoid grooming them the day before. Tight cuts and fresh trims sometimes look awkward AF (you doodle moms know what I’m talking about, right?).

Collars and leashes? I usually remove those in editing for pure art’s sake. So, simple, flat collars work best.

    HOWEVER.

If you have an adorable bandana, flower crown or a collar and tags with sentimental meaning, let me know. We will find ways to include that magic.

Maybe in ways you won’t expect.

    What’s in your closet?

Let’s face it: Figuring out what to wear can be stressful. I’ve stood in front of my closet, too, and thought, “I have nothing to wear!”

And of course I hear my husband’s eyes rolling in the background. So hard they knock against the back of his head sometimes.

    Let’s get you set.

    Be you, but extra comfy
Flowy dresses that dance in the wind? Hell yes. Cozy sweaters, ripped jeans, boots that’ve seen some shit? Also yes. You don’t need a costume; you need clothes that let you move, breathe and laugh with your dog without worrying about a wardrobe malfunction.

    Boots = soulmates
Show up in cute boots and we might just be besties for life. But seriously, your feet are going on an adventure. Dress them accordingly. Stilettos are for red carpets. This is red dirt. But you know … throw them in your bag. We could have some fun with them.

    Layers are your best friend
Weather shifts fast in the Inland Northwest. One minute it’s sunbeams and butterflies, the next it’s wind whipping your hair into an accidental emo album cover. Bring a few layers you can throw on or tie around your waist. It adds to the vibe — and keeps you warm when the sun dips.

    Grooming for you? Optional
This isn’t prom. This is presence. If you feel amazing with a little mascara or a dab of lipstick, go for it. If you roll up with a messy bun and dirt under your nails, own it. That’s the good stuff. That’s real.

Keep it fun. Keep it light. Keep it full of love.

Here’s the real secret: Your dog feels what you feel.

If you’re anxious, they’ll pick up on it. If you’re chill, goofy and in the moment? They’ll be right there with you, living their best damn life.

This is the day you slow down.

The day you look at your dog and think, “I want to remember this exact moment for the rest of my life.”

So breathe. Laugh. Toss the ball. Lay in the grass. Let your dog slobber all over your face.

Bring snacks (for both of you), water and a spirit of adventure.

Because this isn’t just a session.

It’s the day your love story becomes legend.
