I have endless time and energy for dogs in need
My first dog Shep was a rescue. He pulled me into the world of dog mama-hood and taught me things about myself I never would have learned without him.
For that, I am grateful.
I’m also grateful for the ways you share your love of dogs with me and my camera lenses. I am humbled every day I am chosen to create images of your journey together with your dog.
Part of my purpose in finding dog photography as a pursuit, I believe, is to give back to the dog community of Spokane and North Idaho. In the past year, I have donated gift certificates for portrait sessions to:

Rescue Dogs of Heath's Haven Rescue & Sanctuary
I’m luckier than most pet photographers in Spokane and North Idaho. I get to volunteer with the Heath’s Haven Rescue & Sanctuary based out of Athol, Idaho.
Heath’s Haven helps medically challenged dogs get the appropriate care and find the best forever home possible.
Many of the dogs that come to Heath’s Haven are incontinent, paralyzed, spinal injured or any kind of serious medical condition. These are dogs that might have been abandoned or put down had the crew at Heath’s Haven not stepped in.
It is my incredible privilege to volunteer time to photograph these dogs. Heath’s Haven uses these images on their adoption pages and social media accounts to encourage fosters and adopters to give these dogs a home.
Every writer needs to publish a book or two
Every storyteller should write a book, right?
Trust me, I’ve tried. As a longtime writer, I know my friends and family expect me to produce a book. I’ve sat down with fingers on the keyboard a few times and I get a few chapters and … ugh.
Then I learned from pet photographer friends around the world about a project that focuses on stories told with images and words and helps fundraise for a nonprofit special to them.
Paws of the Panhandle, a first-of-its-kind project in the Inland Northwest, was my version in 2021. I partnered with Better Together Animal Alliance in Sandpoint, Idaho, and EzyDog, one of the coolest gear supply companies for adventure dogs. Together, we raised $5,000 for Better Together and told the stories of 45 dog families in the Inland Northwest.
In 2021, I replicated the project for Spokane Humane Society, raising another $5,000 through session fees and celebrating the incredible connection we share with our dogs.
